I use J.C. Whitney filters and they work just fine. I put 30,000 miles on an '87 Savage using them and had no problem. I now use them on my wifes '96 Savage and also buy their filters for my HD. I order a bunch at one time so I don't get burned by the shipping costs. You can never change your oil and filter too often.
Suzuki doesn't make their own filters, they buy them from the same factory that makes the no name brands. The only difference is the box they come in.
